Peer Support

  • :These services are offered to people with disabilities by people with disabilities in both individual and group settings.
  • Peers provide information, share their personal experience, listen and help others solve problems. Peer support training is also offered for those who would like to become a peer supporter.

For Birmingham:

For Shelby County:

  • Peer support meetings are offered the 3rd Thursday of each month from 1 -2 pm
  • Classes meet at Shelby Woods

For St. Clair County:

  • Peer support meetings are offered the 4th Tuesday of each month from 9:30 – 11 am
  • Classes meet at Community Action Pell City

For Blount County:

  • Peer support meetings are offered the 2nd & 4th Thursday of each month from 10:30 am- 12 pm
  • Classes will cook on the 2nd Thursday of each month and do independent living skills on the 4th Thursday of each month.
